What Is Your Driving Force? Fear or Purpose?
I used to have a tendency for worst case scenario thinking.
I would always imagine all that could go wrong then develop strategies to avoid it, work around it, organise safety net, plan B.
Uncertainty was not my friend. It would trigger some very heavy feelings of anxiety.
My mind’s strategy worked, I’m safe, I’m alive, I avoided the worst, phew..
This capacity is a great tool if you work in risk management, analytics, insurance etc
But oh boy how energy consuming it is, all this overthinking, this noise in my head.
I spend the first part of my life flowing against the current, tippy toeing in the water but not jumping, trying to control the outcome, rather than trusting my intuition, my gut feeling.
Fear & panic certainly work, as a very efficient driver.
🔥 But is it really how one wants to spend the rest of their life?
🔥 Is this living or surviving?
🔥What do you think your old self would think about this, looking back at their life?
I became really aware of this part of me over the years and as I learnt more about how our thoughts are formed, I decided no more.
I decided that I wanted to LIVE my life: FREE from my mind, free from the conditioning.
I decided that I wanted to use LOVE, TRUST, ABUNDANCE as my guiding force
The ego fights hard. It wants certainty.
I still have a lot more to shift. That is ok. It is not a destination, it is a life practice.
But here is what I have learnt, you don’t fight back the thoughts of the ego with another thought when your feelings, fears are so intense. When on a subconscious level your body is in survival mode, there is only as far as positive thinking can take you.
So what do you do then?
You listen…You listen to the internal noise, you listen to the pain, to the parts of you that need help. You face your fears.
As you quiet your mind, your hearts reopens…
And then you listen more, behind all of this, you find the real you, the one that is not logical, the one that is free, the one that is connected to all things.
You listen to what makes this part open, excited, alive, flowing and you make decisions based on this.
This then allows you to anchor yourself back into your soul essence and live your purpose.
What is your main driver in life? I would love to hear. Feel free to message me.
